TRVLinspirator described their experiences and is giving you helpful tips for your visit in Marbella.
Restaurant Paella y mas
Chef and very kindly host Javier Ponte has a culinary international career of more than 30 years.
Important to know; “Y MAS” means “And more” and this is definitely as important as their special Paella! TRVLinspirator prefers to order different starters and a main course to share, for example we always order one of the suggestions, the best pata- negra-ham-and-manchego-cheese croquettes, sizzling hot grilled pork skewers, a fresh tomato salad and the juicy Pluma Iberica steak.
The design of the interior is very modern for Marbella and different from any other restaurant. There is a lot of space with cosy corners inside and outside on the intimate and green terrace. This hidden gem is in the middle of the centre from Marbella but not every tourist is going to find it. That’s why we want to tell you our little secret.
Open from Monday – Sunday 12.30-16.00h / 19.30-00.00h.
Address: Calle Hermanos Salom 3, Marbella
BIBO by Dani Garcia
Dani Garcia presents a mix of French, Italian, Peruvian, Castilian and Mediterranean cuisine. BiBo has different atmospheres where you can have all sorts of experiences: from a calm conversation at grandma’s table to an enjoyable gathering at the cocktail bar.
Bibo restaurant is open since 2014 and already fully booked every night. This is a “place to be” for a lot of people who visit Marbella and the perfect opportunity to discover the food from the famous Dani Garcia. He is one of the best Spanish chefs and currently the Andalusian chef with the greatest international presence.
Always order in tapas style, this means that you kick-off with some starters to share and if you are still hungry you just simply order more. Don’t forget to mention to your waiter that you are not in a hurry; in Spain we like to take it easy… Mañana mañana!!
TRVLinspirator is advising you to let us know on time when you are ready for Bibo because they are very strict in taking reservations on certain times.
Open Monday – Sunday 12.30-02.00h.
Address: Hotel Puento Romano, Golden Mile, Marbella
Casanis bistrot restaurant
This restaurant has a little patio, intimate dining room and one of the most romantic terraces in a charming street in the middle of old town Marbella. It’s a must visit on your trip to Marbella. Casanis is known for its French cuisine with influences from all over the world and TRVLinspirator gets inspiration from all sensations of flavours that you can taste here.
After the success of Casanis the owner opened a new Italian restaurant Café Flore in the same street. Both restaurants are always busy and the service is very friendly but sometimes a little fast. To have the best experience we advise to tell your waiter that you want some extra time between your starters and main course.
The taxi will drive you till the front door, by your own car you have to park in one of the public parking’s on walking distance.
Open Monday – Saturday 13.00-15.30h. / 19.30-23.30h. Sunday closed.
Address: Calle Ancha 8, (old town) Marbella
Restaurant NOBU (Puente Romano)
NOBU opened its doors in 2017 at the Puente Romano hotel and is one of the 38 restaurants in 5 different continents. It takes its name from the founder Nobu Matsuhisha and they serve a Peruvian and Japanese fusion cuisine. Nobu’s signature dish is black cod in miso.
TRVLinspirator is a big fan of NOBU’s fine dining experience and especially the location. The venue is very good for a complete evening going out in Marbella; after dinner you can have a good cocktail on the beautiful terrace downstairs and we always end up in the nightclub Suite, 2 steps from the restaurant.
A little advice from us is to order in tapas style, sharing is caring!
Open Tuesday – Saturday 20.00-00.00h. Dinner dress code: Smart Casual
Address: Bulevar Príncipe Alfonso von Hohenlohe, (Hotel Puente Romano) Marbella

Trocadero Arena (Rio Real Beach)
There are 4 Trocadero locations on the Costa del Sol, Entre Dunas, Playa, Sotogrande and Arena. Trocadero Arena is open all year round and for us this is the location with the most impressive indoor styling, luxury sunloungers and outdoor terrace with a magnificent sunset. They provide a Mediterranean cuisine with some touches of the Asian fusion.
There is a valet service to leave your vehicle when you arrive and hand it back to you when you leave. They created an ambience of a typical English home in colonial Africa with Victorian-style furniture. As soon as you enter the building you will get the feeling that it’s going to be a special night.
The service at Trocadero Arena is correct, the area is pretty big so sometimes you have to wave to one of the waiters who is standing between the palms and all the other unique accessories. The extensive choice of wines will complete your lunch or dinner and afterwards you definitely have to try one of the special cocktails, TRVLinspirators favorite the Thai Bloody Mary.
Open from all days of the week from 13.00 – 01.00h.
Address: Playa de Rio Real, ctra. N340, km 186, Marbella
Chiringuito Victor’s Beach
Excellent location right next to the Paseo Marítimo and the sea between Puerto Banus and Marbella. Victor’s beach is a fabulous beach club with a very relaxing ambiance, friendly staff, stunning sunset and regular sun loungers for a low price and with umbrella.
Upstairs you can enjoy lunch or dinner with live music on Sunday and downstairs is the bar area where the DJ takes care of the perfect summer vibes. For TRVLinspirator is the fresh fish from the grill always a success. When you want to order the mixed salad please note that this is a big portion and easy to share. The Clams with white wine sauce is a simple dish but for us its one of the best. The menu is pretty basic with very fair prices.
Open all year round, 11.00-22.00h.
Address: Playa El Ancon, ctra N340, km 177, Marbella

You can use their impressive infinity pool and relax on their sun loungers during the day. TRVLinspirator advises to try their Grand Buffet on Saturday or Sunday (served daily in August), as their snack menu during the week is more limited.

Marbella (Beach) Club
Very stylish, “old-chic”, well-maintained and ultra luxurious beach club in the famous 5 stars Marbella Club Hotel. Relax, food & drinks are the only things to think about over here while enjoying the magical environment.
One of the best daytime buffets along the coast in an impressive garden with a swimming pool to remember! If you prefer not to go up & down to the buffet, be nice 😉 to your waiter and he will take care of you, says an insider to TRVLinspirator. Frequently visited by the celebrities from all over the world. We think this is a fantastic place to enjoy a long Sunday lunch with friends and family.
Open low season: buffet served on Sundays, a la carte during the week 13.00-16.00h.
High season (Christmas, Easter, holidays): buffet served every day 13.00-16.00h.

Tahini Sushi bar
This restaurant is famous for its interior design and stunning view from the terrace. There is an open kitchen, the service is correct and the sushi is one of the best of the Costa del Sol. Please note that the portions are very small and you have to order a lot of plates before you will leave Tahini without feeling hungry.
TRVLinspirator is in love with the location and we think that the restaurant has a lot of potential. This is definitely a great place for a nice romantic evening.
Grand Cafe Cappuccino
With 7 locations worldwide is Grand Cafe Cappuccino a popular and well-known venue for everybody. In Marbella they are located on the beachfront at the Hotel Grand Melia Don Pepe.
Cappuccino created the perfect ambiance for just a drink, breakfast, lunch, dinner or a cocktail. We think this is always an awesome experience and once you have been here you will go back. There is always something to see on the promenade of Marbella.
Aqui te quiero ver “Costabella”
We have recently discovered this amazing chiringuito and what a bless! In the beginning we wanted to order everything from the menu, luckily we received some excellent advise from our waitress. We ordered some starters to share and paella for our main course, we can’t wait to go back and try all the other dishes. You’re sitting with your feet in the sand and there is also a beautiful sunset. Please not that there are also tables inside and we recommend to book your table in advance if you are planning to visit this hidden gem during the weekend.
Open: Monday – Sunday 11.00-18.30h. Address: Costabella calle berlin 20, Marbella
Lobito de Mar (by Dani Garcia)
Lobito de Mar is one of the most beautiful restaurants with some Caribbean touches and where you will see new details the more you look around. A restaurant with a traditional seafood menu and a place where rice dishes and barbecued fish dishes are served with a stunning presentation. High white ceilings provide a spacious sense of light, with a large bar (also nice for pre- or after dinner drinks), high and low tables, vegetation and a fish tank.
The tapas bar is one of the key pieces of chef Dani Garcia’s concept, based on the happiest memories of his childhood. We suggest to order tapas for lunch and try Lobito’s a la carte menu for dinner.
Back Tapas restaurant is one of our best discoveries in 2018, this place is surprising us every time we go there. The food at Back is inventive, fascinating, complex, beautifully presented and bursting with interesting flavors. Back offers a spotless open kitchen area, small cosy terrace, impressive wine cellar and informal colorful inside dining area.
Please note that you will always get 2 delicious appetizers (on the house) and bread with high quality oil before your even ordered. Their menu is excellent for sharing or you can go for a menu with a selection from the chef. The staff at Back is impressively professional and they are always happy to help you choose the right wines.
Don’t miss out on this one!!!
Gauguin Gin & Cocktail bar
If you love cocktails you have to visit this bar and terrace down town Marbella. The owner is our dear friend Michael and he can make unique cocktails or Gin tonics. We can recommend the Moscow Mule, Negroni, Lychee Mojito, Spicy Bloody Mary (secret recipe), Whiskey Sour and cocktails with different types of Gin. It might not be easy to park your car in the same street, so grab a taxi or Uber yourself there to spend your night out at Gauguin.
This bar is close to Back tapas and for TRVLinspirator a normal and good combination to celebrate your weekend! 😉 If you are really on the roll finish the night in the Karaoke bar around the corner… See you soon!
