From Marbella it’s only a fascinating 1,5 hour road trip to experience the most beautiful beach from the south of Spain. Zahara de los Atunes is situated 25 minutes from Tarifa and famous for its 8 km long beach with crystal clean water and golden sand.
This cosy hot spot used to be known as THE fishing village, specialized in trapping tuna, but we can also recommend their flavourful meat from the red-skinned Retinto cow. Spanish food and long-day-on-the-beach lovers, GO!!
Restaurant recommendations from your TRVLinspirator:
El Refugio; for the best lunch experience on the beach, friendly staff, good quality fish and meat, little paradise with an impressive view.
La Taberna de El Campero; interesting for lunch or dinner, not on the beach, a lot of space inside with a small romantic terrace behind and beside the restaurant, try their tuna tartar and many other delicious tapas.
Pradillo; we prefer this restaurant for dinner, located in the middle of the village with an inside and outside terrace, don’t forget to ask for their specials apart from their extensive menu.
Restaurant 21; TRVLinspirators favourite in Zahara de los Atunes, Australian chef, only open for dinner, fine dining experience, located in a small street, only 5 tables inside and a few outside, personal and professional service, must visit!
